Dear Derrick,

Today you had to get all four wisdom teeth pulled. We had to do this because it was pushing your back molar into your other teeth. In order for your braces to continue to work, they had to pull those back wisdom teeth.

You also celebrated a birthday recently. 14 years old! WOW! You are so tall! I know you are anxious to start high school next year, but you have to finish middle school strong.

I just wanted you to remember this day. You were quite miserable with chills and chipmunk cheeks. Too cute for me.
